Climate Leadership Awards

The awards will be chosen by a panel of Climate Hawai‘i judges with expertise in climate science, sustainability, resilience, clean energy, and leadership, and will be based on accomplishments in one or more of the award categories:

  • Individual Climate Hero: Recognizing an individual who has shown extraordinary dedication to climate action through advocacy, action, education, or innovative practices.

  • Business Climate Champion: Honoring a business that has implemented exceptional sustainable practices, reduced its carbon emissions, advocated for systemic change within or outside its business sector, or developed aggressive plans to accelerate achievement of Hawai‘i’s climate goals.

  • Non-Profit or Government Climate Advocate: Celebrating a non-profit organization or a county or state government agency that has made a significant impact on decarbonization, climate or energy equity, resilience efforts, or climate education or community engagement.

  • Innovative Climate Solution: Highlighting an individual, business, or organization that has developed or implemented a groundbreaking solution or technology addressing decarbonization or climate resilience challenges.

Our hope is to not only celebrate individuals and organizations making positive changes for our climate, but to inspire and mobilize others to act. We invite nominations from all sectors to recognize those going above and beyond in pursuit of decarbonization and climate resilience.

Climate Hawai‘i is proud to have hosted our inaugural Climate Leadership Awards at Washington Place. It was a night dedicated to celebrating excellence, innovation, and the commitment that drives our organization forward. We are delighted to announce our four award recipients!
